In Gomer Pyle's Voice, Say, "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!"
I got the surprise of my life today as I sanded the cabinets in my son's bathroom to FINALLY paint the cabinets black. Yes, it was a HUGE surprise when the entire side of my son's cabinet just came off....yes, it came off...in my hand....because it isn't wood....it is paper pasted on particle board. Hubby and I were shocked, and I heard Gomer Pyle in my mind. I had painted the fronts and opposite side of the cabinet when the paper just peeled away from the side facing the tub. These are the same cabinets in my kitchen....and in our bathroom. Well, the good news is the paint looks MARVELOUS and my son loves it! We bought some knobs that we are going to install in the morning after the touch up that I did on the cabinets after work tonight has time to dry. I LOVE the knobs....they have peace signs! I didn't take pictures of his cabinets before, and I wish I would have....I wish I had taken a picture of the thin piece of wood grain paper that peeled off, too! But, I took some pictures of our bathroom cabinets to show you what they looked like before and then I have the after...

My husband's mother always said, "You never can tell the depth of the well by the length of the handle on the pump." Fitting?? I think yes.
